The inaugural Kanrocksas Music Festival was held in Kansas City in August of 2011. I was hired by the festival organizers to develop the branding, design the website, and support the social media and overall marketing effort for the event. The website was built on the Expression Engine CMS platform, and was designed to be flexible enough to handle all of the twists and turns that happen when planning a first-year festival.
Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone (formerly Sandstone Amphitheater) is a 20,000-seat amphitheater located in Bonner Springs, Kansas. I was contracted by the amphitheater's new management team to develop a web strategy, including the design and development of their new website. The website helps to establish Sandstone's new position in the market as an environmentally-conscious venue that puts the fan at the center of an improved social, recreational, and environmental space. The site features a blog that allows the venue to better interact with music fans and the community as a whole.
Grinders and Grinders West are neighboring restaurants in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District. Although they share the same name, each establishment has its own identity. Grinders is a funky little pizza and sandwich joint with and endless beer list, while Grinders West operates as an upscale deli, serving soups, salads, and specialty sandwiches. One thing the two restaurants do have in common is their huge, shared, "backyard" - a 3,000 capacity outdoor concert venue. Snodgrass Creative worked with the restaurants' owners to develop a website that would give each restaurant a distinctive presence on the web, along with a centralized place to promote concerts and events. Because the site was developed using the Expression Engine Content Management System, Grinders can manage everything from menus to concert listings all on their own.
The annual West 18th Street Fashion Show is a premier summer fashion event in Kansas City. Snodgrass Creative worked with the West 18th Street production team to develop a website to help them promote the event, sell tickets, and develop a strong relationship with fans of the show. The site was developed with the Expression Engine content management system, which allows the show's producers to update much of the content on their own. In addition to website development, Snodgrass Creative designs collateral pieces and consults the show's planners on outreach strategy.
U:move is a Kansas City based nightlife event producer and promoter. Snodgrass Creative worked with U:move to develop a website that could house their blog, podcast, and event calendar. The website was built with the Expression Engine Content Management System, which allows U:move to manage all the content on their own.
Hidden Values produces targeted marketing publications that are distributed in over 100 markets throughout the United States. Their system relies on a franchise-like network of self-employed business people who sell advertising and publish publications in their designated markets. The new Hidden Values website is focused on increasing this network of publishers.
Vold & Morris, LLC is a law firm based in in Overland Park, Kansas that specializes in Estate Planning. I designed a website for them that helps to establish their firm as a resource for expert consultation. The site includes a News section and Content Management System both built on the WordPress framework.
Our wife, Sarah Snodgrass, is a realtor with Prudential Kansas City. The site's content revolves around a blog, built on the WordPress framework. This site allows her communicate with potential clients and establish herself as an active expert in the field.
I was hired by Devlin Partners, the operators of over 30 area Papa John's franchise locations, to design their new Papa John's website. The site allows Papa John's to foster online relationships with area customers by offering exclusive coupons, interactive contests, and other market-specific content. An identical site was later developed for the Atlanta-area market.
I was contracted to concept and design a series of full-page magazine ads for a historic boutique hotel located in downtown Kansas City. The ads are currently running in KC Magazine and Spaces Kansas City.
The VooDoo Lounge is a concert and event venue at Harrah's North Kansas City Casino. I have designed multiple promotional materials for their events. The designs I produce require an "edge" while staying true to the venue's branded look and feel.
Hotel Phillips is a historic boutique hotel located in downtown Kansas City. The hotel's restaurant, Phillips Chophouse, is an upscale dining establishment that retains the original style and grandeur of 1930s Kansas City. I was asked by the hotel to concept and produce a creative in-room piece to promote the restaurant to hotel guests. The result is story we call "The Fundamentals of Successful Dining." The story is told through aid of a 3-D Viewer (aka ViewMaster), which is placed in each guest-room of the hotel.
